Missing our friends!

Last month, two of Lane's buddies, Will and Liza, moved to Mississippi. We miss the Parish's so very much. I always look out the window while cooking dinner thinking I am going to see Liza following her daddy around the yard or Sam, the yellow lab, laying in the driveway. If I hear a car door close and lookout, I expect to see Elizabeth carrying Will on her hip and Liza holding her hand as they go into the house. We sure miss making last minute dinner plans with the Parish's and Elizabeth's way of throwing together a yummy dinner in the matter of minutes. Sunday afternoon gatherings on the porch are just not the same without them. Chris is having withdrawals from borrowing Lee's tools and lawncare equipment. I miss having Elizabeth next door to ask all my baby questions. We love you guys! Can't wait to see you soon!

Fun in the Sun!

We just got back from a week in St. Simons. It was a wonderful trip! Lane started crawling the day we left. He has been nonstop since. He loved the beach and pool. We took Lane's pool down to the beach each day and put it under a tent with fresh water in it. That was a great idea! My mom may have caught Chris soaking in it a time or two as well. My parents came for several days and then my great friend Lucy and her boyfriend joined us. It was so great to spend time with all of them.

Lane is started to pull up and even pulled up on my knee yesterday and then let go standing unsupported for several seconds. I was speechless. What happened to my little baby??? Lane is such a big boy! 8 months has flown by! While in St. Simons, Lane revealed his new smile. He squiches his eyes and scrunches his nose. It is so funny! His smile says "I know I am the cutest thing in the world and I know you love me!"

A little more about Lane... He is getting tubes July 6th. Thank goodness! I know I probably should not be happy to get them but the poor little guy always has fluid in his ears and has had lots of ear infections. He failed his hearing test too. So I would rather go ahead and get the tubes because #1 he will feel so much better and #2 I do not want his hearing to affect his language development. I am pretty sure what Lane hears us say sounds like we are under water. I have worked with several kids who have had fluid on their ears and their speech sounds like they are under water. It is crazy. After the fluid is gone, the speech goes back to normal.

Lane still does not have any teeth. I hope they are in there somewhere! He is spitting up more than normal and drooling a lot. So maybe it will be soon. I have been thinking that he was teething since he was four months old. Little do I know.

I finally got Lane on a nap schedule! He was taking three, forty five minute naps. Not enough! Thanks to my friend Laura who gave me some great words of wisdom. He is taking two naps at least two hours long. It is wonderful! I can get some stuff done and he is so much happier.

I am loving having the summer off from work and spending time with my sweet boy. We have another beach trip planned for the end of July. We are already looking forward to it.

Hope you enjoy the pictures!

SAY CHEESE!

Looking for babes??!!

Below is a random picture of Lane and his girlfriend, Annie, chillin in the pool.

EEERRRRR!
I AM TRYING TO PLAY HERE!

Looking for sea shells.

See ya! We took Lane's wagon to the beach. It was the best idea ever. I am pretty sure that all of our chairs, tents, bags, coolers rode in the wagon more than Lane did.

AAAAhhhhh, the beach! I have been waiting my whole life for this!
